History

African-American Business Network is established by a group of dual citizens of African countries and United States to facilitate and coordinate activities to exchange business information and opportunity between genuine businesses in various parts of the world, particularly, between industrialized western/Asian and African continent.

African-American Business Network also serves the civil society community by researching and linking genuine sponsors and promoters of civil society to genuine ‘foot soldiers’ on the ground in the continent of Africa.

Having over the years observed the needs and difficulties primarily faced by enterprising western and Asian businesses, as well as promoters of corporate social responsibility (donors), seeking to participate in emerging markets and social developments of Africa.

Having observed that corruption in most African countries is legendary; and permeates almost all fabrics of the society: governments, businesses, civil society, religion, cultural, you name it; nothing is spared.

Having seen the complex web of government-nongovernmental organizations (NGO) corruption, a situation whereby relatives and cronies of government officials form NGOs to address noble causes, used government connections to corner funds to the projects and siphon those funds into their personal pockets.

Having observed the roles corruption of Africa leaders due to weak government structures played in scaring away genuine foreign businesses and under-development of African society: in business, socio-political, amenities, socio-cultural and human rights.

Having also observed that involvement of some African leaders in corruption make it very difficult for those leaders to address corruption of their citizenry, including cronies and other scammers defrauding prospective foreign businesses, investors and donors.

Furthermore, having observed the devastating havoc various forms of 419 scam mails did not only to over-all development in African nations but development of civil society;

Simply put, African-American Business Network was therefore set-up to connect genuine enterprising western and Asian businesses, as well as promoters of corporate social responsibility (donors) to genuine business dealers and civil society in the continent of Africa.
